One of the greatest privileges the Lord Jesus gives to us as His beloved children and disciples in His great mission of world redemption is to use His Word under His authority and in the power of the Holy Spirit to preach good news, proclaim freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, and release of the oppressed Lk 4:18.

Obedience to the Lord is the key to His power and authority. If you desire to move from observing what God is doing, to being used in what He is doing, coming under His authority and obeying Him in all areas of your life is key!

If we are to follow Jesus’ example, we should be prepared to minister in power and authority at anytime, anywhere, to anyone, at any place, as the Holy Spirit directs. We must always be ready when God whispers in our ear to reach out to someone.

The last words Jesus said to his disciples before he left the earth focused on what their purpose would be after he was gone.  He told them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt 28:18-20)
